Wire a second battery into your van in about an hour, with the right cable thickness and the fuse already on the line. This is the kit that sits between your starter battery (or DC-DC charger) and a second battery in the back — six metres of properly sized cable, a 50A inline fuse, and a 50A Anderson plug so you can disconnect the whole run in seconds.

  • 6m of 6 AWG cable: Thick enough to handle a sustained 50A draw without heating up. Long enough to reach almost any rear-of-vehicle battery position.
  • 50A inline fuse, pre-installed: Already wired into the positive line, so a short circuit blows the fuse — protecting your vehicle from electrical fires. You can run any dcdc charger up to 40 Amp, no fuse maths required. Plug and play 
  • 50A Anderson plug + crimp contacts: Once wiring is in place, simply cut to required length and crimp on the provided electrical terminals. They simply clip into the provided anderson plug. If paired with the Luffare Power Module, all you have to do now is plug the cable into the modul
  • DIY-friendly: Crimping the Anderson contacts is the only fiddly bit. A proper crimper is ideal, but strong pliers will get the job done. With the help of our instructions you will be able to do it yourself!
  • Open-ended cable: Cut cable to your length. The side of the cable with the ring terminals and fuse dont need to be touched if you start wiring the car from front to back.

Common questions

Will this work with my car's smart alternator?

This kit is for standard alternators only. If your vehicle has a smart or variable-voltage alternator, check your alternator type before buying or get in touch with our support.

Do I need a crimping tool?

Ideally yes — a hex crimper made for Anderson contacts gives the cleanest connection. But you can do this with a strong pair of pliers if you don't have one. Make sure the crimp is tight and the contact won't move inside the plug.

How long will it take to install?

About an hour for someone who's never wired one before. Most of that time is routing the cable through the vehicle. The Anderson plug crimps take a few minutes per contact.

Can I disconnect it later or move it to another van?

Yes. Pull the Anderson plug apart and the second battery is electrically isolated. The whole kit can be removed from one vehicle and reinstalled in another — nothing is glued, welded, or hard-wired in.

What's the 50A fuse for?

Safety. If something goes wrong — a frayed cable, a short to chassis — the fuse blows before your wiring or battery does. It's pre-installed on the positive line so you don't have to work out where it goes.

Will 6m be enough cable?

For most builds, yes. Six metres covers a typical run from the engine bay or starter battery through to the rear of a van. If you've got a particularly long vehicle or a complicated route, measure first.
